Dr. Cristina Gomes

Dr. Cristina Gomes studied Medicine at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro., a specialization in Public Healthat the Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, National School of Public Health, a master degree in Population and Development at Flacso México and a PhD in Population from the Colegio de México. For four years she worked at the United Nations as Regional Advisor on Population and Development for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Ford Foundation and the Population Council. She coordinated South-South cooperation activities between governments at the UN for the development of demographic bonus and social protection, migration and reproductive health, poverty and adolescent pregnancy policies. He has collaborated with intergovernmental organizations such as the OAS, the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIDH), the Central American Integration System (SICA), the Regional Conference on Migration (CRM) and the Inter-American Conference on Security Social (CISS).
